Greetings, Classmates!

We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate our class’s 40th Reunion!!!

Date: Saturday, June 7th, from 3pm to 7pm

Location: Starchild Rooftop, atop the Civilian Hotel, 305 West 48th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue.
https://starchildrooftop.com/

Price per person: $110.00

The Starchild Rooftop offers exceptional views perched up on the 27th floor. Its retractable roof transforms the venue from an air-conditioned, glass-enclosed space to an open-air rooftop in seconds. Outdoor terraces offer panoramic views of the city skyline.

We will have the entire space to ourselves, with indoor, outdoor and convertible roof spaces.

Plenty of appetizers will be on hand for the entire party, including vegan and gluten free options, as well as juice, soda and water from the bar.

Beer, wine and cocktails are available at the cash bar.

This is the most reasonable price we could manage for a memorable venue in Manhattan.

***  There are a number of great events going on that weekend at Hunter, including an auction, an awards ceremony, softball game and alumnae/i dance.  These are all great events, and we chose our party time to allow any of you that would like to attend do so, but ticket sales for those events and our party are completely separate.

Also, although our friend Marvin Young will be making appearances at some of those events, he has assured us that he will be at our party!

ESPI

Class Gift

We are also taking donations for a class gift.  We’d like to call attention to a wonderful group founded and guided by some of our classmates:

ESPI: CITY SMART SCHOLARS

espi.nyc

The ESPI: CITY SMART SCHOLARS program provides advanced students, from low-income neighborhoods and racially isolated schools, with academic and cultural enrichment over a multi-year period. ESPI creates a community where educational opportunity can be realized. Students are given the foundations and test prep needed to gain admission to elite NYC exam schools such as Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech and Hunter College High School. They develop skills to thrive in academically intensive schools of all types.

At this time, when the value of diversity is being questioned, we ask that you consider making a gift with your classmates as a statement of just how important a diverse Hunter student population is to all of us.
